Die casting is the process of forcing molten metal under pressure into metal molds or dies. It is one of the most economical and effective methods of producing moderate to high-volume quantities of parts. There are three main requirements for producing commercially acceptable die castings. They are:
The equipment needed to produce die castings are essentially the molds and a die casting machine that holds, opens and closes the molds or dies. The variables that determine the surface quality and consistency of the part are directly related to the die itself. The die must possess the quality of thermal balance (heat input vs. heat extraction) this controls surface quality, soundness of the part and dictates cycling speed. The three main variables that affect the quality of the part are:
Zinc based die casting alloys were introduced in the late 1920s. These alloys, commonly known as Zamak or Mazak alloys, have a unique combination of properties that permit rapid and economic casting of parts. These parts are strong, durable and accurate. Zinc alloys have many advantages over other die-casting materials.
At Jinan Emerson we promise to provide you with die cast parts of the highest quality and at the best value. We can produce zinc die cast parts with weights from 20g to 2kg and up to 650mm in length. We can surface treat with paint, chromate treatment, powder coated or tumbled polish. For a quotation send your drawing by e-mail, fax or regular mail to: Jerry J.
