Stamping is the process of shaping or cutting metal through deformation by shearing, punching, drawing, stretching, bending, coining, etc... There are three fundamental press operations that a stamped part may be produced from. They are:

• Cutting (blanking, punching, perforating or lancing)
• Drawing (bending or forming)
• Coining (compression, squeezing or forging)

Stamping also has many advantages including:

• Low cost
• High production rates
• High strength to weight ratio (parts that are lightweight and strong)

Stampings are indispensible, most likely you see a part that was manufactured by stamping almost everyday. Here is just a short list of places you might see stamped parts.

At Jinan Emerson we make stampings with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum plate. Some stamping parts can be welded and fabricated. Steel parts can be finished by electric galvanizing, hot dip galvanizing, powder coating or chromate and stainless steel parts can be polished to a mirror like finish. We are capable of producing parts with weights from 20g to 5kgs.
